Unburden & Elevate: An Intuitive

Approach to Awakening

Date: Wednesday 30th August, 8pm - 9.45pm

Venue: Harrow Arts Centre, 171 Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, Middx. HA5 4EA

"Join us for an evening devoted to the art of rest, freedom, lightness of being, awareness and happiness. We will explore really simple, effective and fun ways to unburden and elevate ourselves on a daily basis.

After 6 years living as a Buddhist monk, Nithya was guided to live, learn and serve in broader ways than the traditional role of a monk permitted. With the blessings of his teachers, he stepped out of the robes in early 2008 and has since dedicated his life to share joyful teachings in workshops, youth programs, corporate training and meditation retreats around the world."

Talk: "Beyond the Relaxation Response"

Date: Tuesday 7th November, 7pm - 9pm

Venue: Hinde Street Church, 19 Thayer Street, London W1U 2QJ

"Join us at Hinde Street Church for this talk about new scientific insights into meditation, given by Peter McLoughlin. In 1975, Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School ushered in a new era of scientific understanding in the field of meditation. He coined the phrase ‘Relaxation Response’ because the changes in adrenaline, cortisol, blood pressure etc. were the opposite of what happened in the stress or ‘fight or flight’ response. Now a new era has dawned. The latest research shows conclusively that mind-body techniques such as meditation can influence the body all the way down to the genetic level. In this engaging and enlightening talk you will discover that your mind has the ability to change the way your body, brain and genes function".

Entry is free and all are welcome; donations to help towards the cost of the event will be welcome. If you would like more information, please see here or contact us on 020 7034 4000.
