Om Healing

OM Healing is an ancient ritual from India that harnesses the power of the audible OM chant for the purposes of healing on all levels of being (primarily for the benefit of those in the group but there is also an 'absent healing' aspect). An interesting article on the power of OM can be viewed here.

A specific technique that utilises this power was made public in 2007, the aim of which is to help the practitioner through the activation of his/her own self-healing capacities. It does not replace diagnosis or treatment by a doctor, alternative medical practitioner or therapist, nor does it offer any guarantee of beneficial results.

There is only a small number of groups holding OM Healing sessions in London, see details below; click on the 'venue' link for a map. The listed groups are open to anybody who seeks any sort of healing; they are also free of charge but donations towards room hire are welcome.

First time attendance: each group is run by a named organiser and you may wish to contact that person by email in advance to let them know that you are coming (although this is not essential). All newcomers will receive a verbal briefing on the mechanics of the technique. Please be punctual; once the healing session has started, it will not be possible to join. Sessions normally last about one hour.

Spiritual Events

                                    DHYANA CENTRE

Venue: c/o Theosophical Society, 50 Gloucester Place, London W1U 8EA

Tube: Baker Street or Marble Arch, both about 10 minutes walk

Timings:  every Friday at 8.10pm

[in the rare event of an exception to this schedule, details will be posted here]

OM Healing sessions at the Dhyana Centre consist of 45 minutes of audible chant. They commence promptly and there is no late admittance so punctuality is essential. Open to all without pre-booking but first-time attendees may wish to email the Centre in advance. No preparation is required and there is no dress code: we sit on chairs, not the floor. A verbal briefing will be given to any newcomers before each session starts.

The chant session is preceded by a silent group meditation for 40 minutes which starts promptly at 7pm. Visitors for the healing are also welcome to participate in the meditation or may come solely for the healing, in which case they must arrive between 7.50pm and 8.10pm (not before or after).
